The story of 24-year old black mother and sharecropper Recy Taylor, who was gang raped by six white men in Alabama in 1944. She spoke up at the time and identified her rapists. The NAACP sent its chief rape investigator and civil rights activist, Rosa Parks, who rallied support and triggered an unprecedented outcry for justice.

These women dared to speak up when danger was at its greatest. Courage like this led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the related, era-defining civil rights movements that followed, culminating into today’s Global Women’s Marches and campaigns such as #MeToo, #TimesUp and #SheSpokeUp.
